Stora livshändelser kräver olika myndigheter och handlingar. Börja med att hitta rätt.
- Inför vigsel i Sverige ansöker ni om hindersprövning hos Skatteverket.
- Prövningen är avgiftsfri och gäller fyra månader; giltigheten kan inte förlängas.
- Pensionsmyndigheten rekommenderar ansökan helst tre månader före första utbetalningen, helst sex månader om du bott utomlands.
- Efterlevandeguiden samlar information från Skatteverket, Försäkringskassan och Pensionsmyndigheten när en anhörig dör.
- Identifiera livshändelse och vilken handling du behöver.
- Läs aktuell vägledning och tidsfrister.
- Fråga myndigheten om särskilda handlingar behövs; lämna inga personuppgifter i en öppen övning.

When something big happens in life, you often need to contact several authorities. Each authority has its own job.
- Skatteverket (the Swedish Tax Agency): population registration, address, name, checks before marriage, estate inventory.
- Försäkringskassan (the Swedish Social Insurance Agency): among other things parental benefit, sickness benefit and support for disability.
- Pensionsmyndigheten (the Swedish Pensions Agency): public pension and survivor's pension.
- Tingsrätten (the district court): divorce, and disputes about custody, where children live and contact with children.
- Kommunen (the municipality): social services, family law services and everyday support.
How to plan
How to do it
- Write down what has happened or what will happen.
- Find out which authority is responsible. Read the authority's own website.
- Write important dates and deadlines in a calendar.
- Keep papers and decisions in one place, preferably in a folder.
- Call the authority if you are not sure. It is better to ask too often.
Tip: Skatteverket, Försäkringskassan and Pensionsmyndigheten have phone customer service. You can also ask for an interpreter.
Your situation may be special
The rules can be different if you have lived or worked in another country. They can also be different if you have a child with someone in another country. Ask the authority what applies to you.
